ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' men's soccer team tied the Concordia Tornados 0-0 on Saturday night in Abilene in American Southwest Conference action.
Both teams had some incredible shots throughout the night, but the only thing better than the shots was the defense.
While the stats only show 12 total goalkeeper saves, there were many would be goals that were blocked from going in by other defenders, and the game played through two overtime periods without a single goal.
The Cowboys had 22 shots and seven on frame while Concordia had 14 shots and five on goal. The Cowboys had six corners to the Tornado's three.
Trent Ivey played in goal for the Cowboys and had five saves while Erik Rodriguez started for Concordia with seven saves, both with shutout performances.
The Cowboys are now 13-2-1 on the season and 6-2-1 in the ASC. Concordia moves to 9-5-3 and 7-1-2 in the conference. The Cowboys will play next on Monday against UMHB in Abilene at 7:30 p.m.
