ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer team won 14-0 against Texas College at the HSU Soccer Complex on Wednesday night.
The Cowgirl's ridiculous offensive day included 61 shots, 22 shots on goal, and 14 goals. Amazingly enough, none of those are team game records for the Cowgirl club.
On the day, nine different Cowgirls scored at least one goal, and eight different Cowgirls had at least one assist.
Madelyn Dowell led the team with three goals and she also had one assist. Michaela Sabrsula, Finda Kollie, and Avery Lara each had two goals. Finally, Taylor Bernal, Rachel Bean, Casady Jenkins, Alexis Sciano, and Irene Ramirez all had one goal for the Cowgirls, making the grand total of 14.
The Steer's keeper Stephanie Chavez had eight saves on the night. Cowgirl keepers Haley Foley and Kayla Gable each had a half of scoreless play in the net. The Cowgirls also had 12 corner kicks in the match.
The Cowgirls now have a record of 1-2-1 on the season and will have an off weekend before hosting Grove City at home in Abilene on Friday, September 20th at 7 p.m.
