ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer team won 4-0 on their Senior Day against the Concordia Tornados in American Southwest Conference play on Saturday night at the HSU Soccer Complex.
Senior Michaela Sabrsula got the opening goal at the back post after a nice ball across the box from Taylor Bernal in the seventh minute of the game. Senior Morgan McAdams hit a ball high after a drop from Madelyn Dowell and scored her first goal of the season in the top corner in the 12th minute to make it 2-0.
Senior Bernal, already with an assist, scored to make it 3-0 in the 23rd minute after Dowell played a threw ball and Bernal dribbled past the remaining defense for the finish. Randie Dennison capped the game off with the fourth Cowgirl goal in the 34th minute off an Alexis Sciano assist.
The Cowgirls had 17 shots and eight on frame to the Tornados 13 shots and six on goal. The cowgirls had three corners to Concordia's two.
Kayla Gable had the start for the Cowgirls in goal and had six saves in the win. Tornado keeper Sofie Gomez had four saves in the loss.
The Cowgirls make it 12-2-1 on the year and 9-0 in the ASC while Concordia is now 4-12 and 4-6 in conference. The Cowgirls return on Monday to play UMHB in Abilene at 5 p.m.
