Four Cowgirls Receive United Soccer Coaches All-Region Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer team had four players named to the United Soccer Coaches all-West region teams.

Senior defender Kendell Groom and senior forward Taylor Bernal were both named first team all-region. Sophomore midfielder Madelyn Dowell was also named first team and sophomore Mackensie Moreno was named second team all-region at defender.

Groom has been a top defender in the conference on the Cowgirl backline for four years and Bernal led the conference this season with 18 goals. The seniors have four ASC Championship titles on their record.

Dowell led the Cowgirls in assists with 14 and was second in goals with 11. Moreno was a first team all-conference defender.

Groom was the ASC Defensive Player of the Year, Bernal was the ASC Offensive Player of the Year, and Dowell took home the ASC Midfielder of the Year award.

All first team all-region selections will be on the ballot for All-American honors.
