Cowgirls Fall To Cru In ASC Action

 

ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' volleyball team fell 25-13, 25-12, 25-19 in American Southwest Conference action to Mary Hardin-Baylor on Saturday afternoon at the Mabee Complex.

The Cowgirls dug themselves to early deficits falling behind 10-2 in the first game, 16-3 in the second game and 14-6 in the third to give the Cru control of all three games.

Triniti Anderson and Sarah Bennett led the Cowgirls with 10 kills each. Ashley Pierce ran the offense with 22 assists and also led the team with 10 digs.

Corinne Novak led the Cru with nine kills and hit .364. Jenna Gillean had 13 digs. The Cru had a big day offensively as they hit .345 as a team and also had nine team blocks.

The Cowgirls are now 3-6 overall and 0-2 in ASC action. UMHB improved to 8-4 overall and 4-0 in league play. 

HSU returns to action on Tuesday night at crosstown rival McMurry.
