SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' volleyball team dropped a pair of matches to close out the regular season on Friday in San Antonio, losing 25-19, 23-25, 15-25, 25-20, 15-12 to Texas Lutheran before dropping a 25-12, 25-16, 25-15 match to No. 6 Trinity.
Texas Lutheran won the first game before the Cowgirls won the second and third games. TLU tied it up with a win in the fourth game.
In the decisive fifth set, HSU led 12-10 but the Bulldogs scored the final five points to take the match.
Against Trinity, Anderson had six kills and Knapek and Kaytlynn Lewis added five kills each. Pierce added seven digs and 23 assists.
The Cowgirls finished the regular season with a 12-12 mark and will travel to the ASC Tournament at UT-Dallas. HSU will play LeTourneau on Thursday night at 7:30.
