Tencate Sets 6k Record in Cowgirl Win Saturday

ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' women's cross country finished first in the Bill Libby Invitational ran at the ACU Cross Country course in Abilene on Saturday morning.

Senior Cowgirl Sydney Tencate finished second overall out of 82 runners setting a new Cowgirl cross country record with a 22:59.5 finish in the 6k. The Cowgirls edged out Trinity for the win with 58 points to Trinity's 65.

Madison Hemenway ran a 24:23, Shelby Schmidt finished in 24:25, and Lynda Farmer had a 25:25 for the team.

Yulissa Rios ran a 25:50 for the Cowgirls, Rachel Clark ran a 26:04, and Brittany Acosta had a 26:07.

Leslie Gonzalez finished in 27:36, Lauren Stokes had a 29:17, and Briana Cruz ran a 29:52 for the Cowgirls.

The next Cowgirl cross country action will be at the ASC Cross Country Championship in Abilene on November 2nd at the ACU Cross Country course.
