Box Score 2 ABILENE, Texas — Hardin-Simmons' volleyball team opened its season with a 4-0 record at the Texas-Dallas Labor Day Invite in Richardson and the Cowgirls' Sabrina Bingham set the school record for wins in a career with 118, surpassing Kim Vinson's 116.
HSU swept both Centenary and Mary Hardin-Baylor in straight sets.
The Cowgirls beat Centenary 25-16, 25-20, 25-13. Morgan Watts led the Cowgirls as she hit .833 and had 10 kills. Emilee Davis had 13 digs to pace the defense and the Cowgirls had eight blocks and nine service aces in the match while hitting .365.
Against Mary Hardin-Baylor the Cowgirls held the Cru to .025 hitting and recorded 10 total blocks. Tori Martinez had 12 kills, Christine Sas had 11 kills and 10 digs and Ashley Babineaux had 24 digs.
The Cowgirls are 4-0 on the season and hit the road to California for a tournament next weekend.
