Kuster Hits 1,000 Kills As Cowgirls Split

RICHARDSON, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' volleyball team split a pair of matches on Friday at the American Southwest Conference crossover tournament on Friday in Richardson.

In the first match against UT Dallas, the Cowgirls fell 25-21, 25-12, 25-15.

Allison Kuster led the Cowgirl attack with 10 kills and she hit .391. Defensively, Kuster and Leecia DePaula led the way with nine digs each.

In the second game of the day against Belhaven, the Cowgirls rolled 25-16, 25-18, 25-15. Kuster added 15 more kills and she went over the 1,000-mark for her career. She now has 1,000 career kills and digs. Morgan Prince had 11 kills.

The Cowgirl offense hit .293 as a team and the team had eight blocks. Kuster led the Cowgirl defense with 17 digs.

HSU is 14-8 on the year and 6-6 in ASC play. The Cowgirls will play Louisiana College at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
