BELTON, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowboy soccer team fell 1-0 to Concordia Texas in the American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament semifinal on Thursday night to finish the year.
The Cowboys advanced to the ASC semifinal with a win 2-1 over Howard Payne in the quarterfinal. HSU played to a scoreless tie with Concordia just a few weeks ago in the regular season match.
Concordia scored the difference in the game before half, and the Cowboys were unable to convert any chances to end in a 1-0 win for the Tornados.
The Cowboys shot ten times with six on goal to 16 shots and seven shots on goal for Concordia. HSU had three corner kicks in the game and the Tornados took one.
The Cowboys end the season in the ASC semifinal with a record of 8-6-5. We'd like to thank our senior Cowboy soccer players,
Brenden Cisneros,
Max Meraz,
Jose Victor,
Johan Hernandez, and
Jakob Fiol for their time and effort with the Hardin-Simmons program.
