Box Score SEGUIN, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowboy basketball made it seven straight wins at Texas Lutheran, winning 83-67 against the Bulldogs on the road Wednesday to take the Cowboys to 10-2 this year.
The Cowboys shot 46 %, going 31-67 in the game, improving nicely from a first half shooting 39% and getting 52% to fall in the second.
Hardin-Simmons led 31-29 at the half. The Cowboys trailed by as many as six, down 29-23 with two minutes left. HSU went on an 8-0 run to take the lead going into halftime.
In a tale of two halves, the Cowboys shot 3-9 from the free throw line in the first while holding the lead over the Bulldogs. In the second half, the Cowboys outscored Texas Lutheran 52-38 with the help of 14-15 good free throws to extend the win streak with an 83-67 win comfortably in Seguin.
Hardin-Simmons had another great night from
Will Bartoszek who leads the team in scoring with 26 against the Bulldogs Wednesday. He had six rebounds as well.
Austin Brewer added another double-double with 16 points shooting 7-11 and grabbing 12 rebounds.
Jalen McGee led the Cowboys in assists with four and scored ten in the win. McGee also had four steals for the Cowboy defense.
Jason Justice led HSU with a full jar of cookies, totaling seven steals against the Bulldogs.
The Cowboys improved to 10-2 at TLU and will finish with a game at Schreiner on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. before taking the weekend off for Christmas.
