ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl soccer team remained unbeaten after defeating the Texas Lutheran Bulldogs 2-0 on Tuesday night at the HSU Soccer Complex.
The Cowgirl team returned to play after a comeback to tie Trinity last Friday night. HSU commanded much of the action in the first half against the Bulldogs while the game remained scoreless.
The volume of shots finally paid off for the Cowgirls in the 68th minute off the foot of
Lexi Templin after a ball in from
Keanne Alamo from the wing to take a 1-0 lead. Templin leads the ASC with six goals and Alamo leads in assists with six.

Lauren Stengel got the first goal of her career on a line from the top of the box to extend the lead and make it a 2-0 final score for Hardin-Simmons.
The Cowgirls shot 28 times with ten shots on goal in the match to eight shots and five on goal for the Bulldogs. Hardin-Simmons led with five corner kicks to two for Texas Lutheran.

Haley Foley went full time for the Cowgirls with five saves in the shutout win.
Hardin-Simmons improves to 5-0-1 on the year with the win, giving Texas Lutheran its first loss at 3-1-2. The Cowgirl team will return to the HSU Soccer Complex Friday night at 7 p.m. to host the Wis.-Stevens Point Pointers.
