MARSHALL, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl volleyball team split two matches Friday, with a sweep of Belhaven 3-0 and falling to St. Thomas (Tex.) 3-0 at the ETBU Tiger Invitational.
 
In the game against Belhaven, the Cowgirls completed the 3-0 sweep in sets of 25-11, 25-16, and 25-17. Hardin-Simmons hit .253 with 32 kills to Belhaven's .014 and 16 kills.
 
Sophomore 
Liz Underwood led the Cowgirls with 12 kills in the match. 
Ali Meyer led HSU is digs with eight and assists with ten in the sweep of the Blazers.
 
The Cowgirls dropped the second match 3-0 to the UST Celts 25-16, 25-20, 25-22. Hardin-Simmons hit .116 with 39 kills in the match while the Celts went for .246 and 38 kills.
 
Underwood again led with 12 more kills against St. Thomas. Meyer had 16 assists to lead HSU with 14 digs. 
Kat Martinez had 18 digs to lead the Cowgirls and Rodgers added 13.
 
The Cowgirls move to 2-4 after Friday and will return to the courts with two more matches at the ETBU Tiger Invitational in Marshall on Saturday, beginning against Whitman at 9 a.m. and Millsaps at 1 p.m.
