KINGSLAND, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' women's golf team placed third at the Texas Legends Cup on Tuesday afternoon at the The Legends Golf Club in Kingsland.

The Cowgirls improved eight strokes in the second round and finished with a 315-307-622 total. Mary Hardin-Baylor won the tournament with a 301-303-604. Our Lady of the Lake University was second with a 310-310-620.

Mary Hardin-Baylor B was fourth with a 633, followed by East Texas Baptist (635), Southwestern (638), Schreiner (661), Millsaps (665) and McMurry (690).
 
Shay West led the Cowgirls with a 73-74-147 to place third in the tournament. She was one-shot behind Annie Piggott of Millsaps and Camryn Kiser of Mary Hardin-Baylor for the individual crown. Kiser won the playoff for the title. 
 
Allison McGinnis had her best round of the season with a 75 and finished 13^th overall with an 81-75-156. Ella Campbell carded a pair of 79s for a 158 total and finished 16^th. Brooke Wooldridge shot 82-79-161 and Aly Navarro shot 87-89-176.
 
The Cowgirls will next be in action Oct. 21-22 at the Abilene Intercollegiate, which will be held at Cypress Bend Resort in Many, La.
