MARSHALL, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowboy cross country team had four individuals run at the 2024 American Southwest Conference Championship race hosted by ETBU on Saturday morning, with two Cowboys inside the top-10. Three Cowboys earned major ASC awards.
Senior
Elijah Holmes came in third overall at the ASC championship and was named the ASC Co-Sportmanship Athlete of the Year. Freshman Cowboy
Aiden Seekins went home with the ASC Freshman of the Year award and junior
Noah Bela was named the ASC Newcomer of the Year. Seekins placed seventh and Bela came in at No. 11 at the championship.
Holmes ran an 8k of 27:24 to lead the Cowboys and place third overall at the ASC championship.
Seekins ran a time of 28:06 at the ASC championship and finished in seventh place for the Cowboys. Holmes and Seekins were both named all-ASC first team.
Bela ran a time of 28:25 in the 8k ASC championship race on Saturday. He finished at No. 11 in the ASC and was named all-ASC second team.
Nathan Oxte ran a time of 31:24 for the Cowboys at the ASC championship.
Hardin-Simmons will continue at the NCAA Regional on Nov. 16 hosted by Lewis & Clark College in Oregon.
