MARSHALL, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl cross country team finished in third place at the 2024 American Southwest Conference women's cross country championship race hosted by ETBU, with
Kylah Holland setting the ASC 6k record as the champ and
Jasmin Mendez medaling as well for HSU.
Holland ran a 6k race in 22:50 at the ASC championship in Marshall for an ASC championship record time, defending her individual title yet again. She will continue at the NCAA Regional Championship on Nov. 16 in Oregon.
Cowgirl runner
Jasmin Mendez finished in third place at the ASC championship with a race of 24:10. Holland and Mendez were named all-ASC first team for their top-3 finishes.
Cowgirl
Traci Martin came in ninth at the ASC championship, running a 6k of 25:44. Martin was named to the all-ASC second team.
Abigail Cox ran a 27:06,
Hope Fuentes had a time of 27:38, and
Faith Miller finished the 6k in 28:21 for the Cowgirls. Hardin-Simmons finished third overall at the ASC championship with 57 points.
The Cowgirls will continue at the NCAA Regional on Nov. 16 hosted by Lewis & Clark College in Oregon.
