ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl basketball team won 72-42 against Austin College on Saturday to improve to 9-1 on the season at the Mabee Athletic Complex.
The Cowgirls led 21-11 after the first quarter and never looked back, going up 37-22 at the half.
HSU outscored their opponent 20-10 and 15-10 in the third and fourth quarters to win by 30 against Austin College.
Hardin-Simmons shot 23-69 for 33% and had 53 rebounds to lead Austin College. The Cowgirls forced 21 turnovers and only had eight turnovers on offense.
Jacqueline Berry led the Cowgirls with 15 points against the Roos to lead the team. She finished with six rebounds as well.
Aiken Semones shot 5-9 and scored 13 points for the Cowgirls with three from behind the arc.
Allie Buchanan led the team with eight rebounds and
Dana Gingrey had four assists for Hardin-Simmons.
The Cowgirls improve to 9-1 on the season and will take a week off for finals before heading down to Daytona, Florida beginning with a game against William Smith on Dec. 16 at 1 p.m.
