ROUND ROCK, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl basketball team won big on Thursday night 97-53 over the Concordia Texas Tornados in American Southwest Conference play.
The Cowgirls shot 12-15 for 80 percent in the opening quarter to lead 33-6 and went up 60-14 at the half.
Hardin-Simmons went on to win 97-53 in the ASC game at Concordia.
Paris Kiser led the floor with 22 points for HSU shooting 8-12.
Kynnan Shields had a career high as a Cowgirl with 18 points, going 8-11 and leading the team with eight rebounds.
Madison Williams scored 16 with three 3-pointers and led the team with six assists.

Parris Parmer each scored ten in the Cowgirl win.
The Cowgirls shot 48 percent in the win and had 38 rebounds to 34 for Concordia. The Cowgirl defense forced 34 Tornado turnovers in the game.
Hardin-Simmons improves to 21-3 and 13-2 in the American Southwest Conference and will finish the regular season at UMHB on Saturday at 1 p.m.
