BELTON, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' baseball team dropped the first game of its American Southwest Conference series at Mary Hardin-Baylor, 13-0, on Friday Night at Red Murff Field in Belton.
The Cru opened up a 5-0 lead on a solo home run and a grand slam and never looked back in the contest.

Jacob Hollingsworth and
Kyler Reed each had one hit for the Cowboys. Kyle Hogwood led the Cru with seven RBIs and had three hits and two home runs.
James McGlumphy earned the win on the mound to improve to 4-2 on the year. He allowed just three hits and no runs.
Wyatt Tumlinson allowed seven runs on nine hits in four and one-third innings to fall to 3-5 on the year.
Brandon Bane, Tristan Boedecker,
Caleb Robbins and
Bradley Fletcher all worked out of the bullpen.
HSU is now 10-16 on the year and 5-8 in league play. UMHB improved to 18-9 overall and
10-6 in ASC action.
The teams will play a doubleheader starting at noon on Saturday.
