MARSHALL, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl softball team ended the year with a loss to LeTourneau in the American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament on Friday night playing at East Texas Baptist.
The Cowgirls matched up with LeTourneau for the second time at the ASC Tournament on Friday night after defeating McMurry in the morning game to advance in the elimination side of the bracket.
Hardin-Simmons fell 9-0 to the Yellowjackets with another tough game at the plate for the Cowgirls with two hits to eight hits from LETU.
The Cowgirls had a few runners in scoring position early but couldn't convert, and LeTourneau pulled away and was able to finish the game 9-0 after five innings.
Jorey Hood started the game after throwing a complete-game shutout earlier that morning against McMurry.
Haven Williams and
Aubrianna Salazar finished the game for the Cowgirls.
The Cowgirls finish the season with a record of 27-14 under first-year head coach
Casey Wilson with another trip to the ASC Tournament for the softball program.
