SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' men's and women's outdoor track team improved a pair of records running at the Trinity Last Chance meet on Sunday.
 
Nikki Tolbert improved her Cowgirl 400m record time with a new mark of 56.85. Tolbert finished second in the event at Trinity.
 
Kylah Holland also shaved some time off her Cowgirl 3k steeplechase record, running a time of 10:48 at Trinity. Holland was first place at the meet in the event.
 
Emmalee Horton won the high jump at Trinity posting a mark of 5-1 ¼ ft. Avalon Griggs took second in the high jump with 4-9 ½ ft.
 
Kylah Washington led the Cowgirls with fourth place in the 100m dash, coming in at 12.40.
 
Tolbert also led the Cowgirls in the 200m, finishing in 25.41 for Hardin-Simmons and taking fourth place.
 
Danielle Sauls placed fifth in the long jump at Trinity with a 15-9 ½ ft. jump to lead the Cowgirls.
 
The Cowgirl 4x400m relay team of Tolbert, Abby Bramlett, Sophie Hale, and Danielle Pena ran a time of 3:59 on Sunday.
 
The Cowboys were led by Javarian Belcha in the 100m dash with a time of 10.81. Belcha placed sixth at Trinity.
 
Belcha also led the Cowboys in the 200m with a fifth-place finish. He ran a 200m in 22.26 for HSU.
 
Adan Santoyo ran the 400m in 49.62 to finish sixth at the meet.
 
Davare Payne led the Cowboys in the 110m hurdles and the long jump. Payne finished the hurdles in 14.76 for third place and jumped 23-11 1/5 ft. for second place in the long jump.
 
Gunner Helm and Garret Rothans each jumped 6-5 ½ ft. in the high jump for the Cowboys, placing third and fourth, respectively.
 
Nathan Mangual placed fourth in the shot put with a 44-5 ½ ft. throw and Evan Hanson threw the discus 147-8 ft. for second place at the Trinity meet.
 
Hardin-Simmons track will see who makes the cut for both Cowboys and Cowgirls to head to the NCAA Championships with the announcement coming this Friday.
