WACO, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowboy tennis team fell in the American Southwest Conference Tournament semifinals 5-3 to the East Texas Baptist Tigers 5-3 on Friday morning playing at the Baylor Indoor facility.

The Cowboys took the top doubles match 8-4 with a win from Justus Petersilie and Luke Cantu against Black and Karseno for the Tigers.

The Cowboys needed to win four of six singles flights to get to five wins after going down 1-2 in doubles. They got two before the Tigers won three, giving them the win 5-3.

Zach Fowler defeated Ladner 6-2, 6-0 in the third flight of singles for Hardin-Simmons and Payne Smith won at the fourth flight 6-3, 6-3 against Couch for the Cowboys.

The Cowboys finish the season 8-12 with another trip to the ASC Tournament in 2024.
