ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl tennis team played the first day of the Cowboy Classic on Friday and got a win from senior Jonnah Smith against a DII opponent from UT Permian Basin in singles.
 
The Cowgirls invited teams from Dallas Baptist, St. Mary's Texas, and UTPB to play in a random draw singles and doubles tournament in Abilene this weekend. The Cowgirls mainly faced off with opponents from UTPB on Friday.
