AUSTIN, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowboy basketball team won 107-78 over the Concordia Tornados on Saturday on the road.
Hardin-Simmons led 56-37 at the half and never looked back, scoring 51-41 in the second to win by 29 points.
HSU shot 55%, going 40-72 on the day with 39 rebounds. The defense held Concordia to shooting 47% making 30-63 with 31 rebounds.
Hardin-Simmons won the turnover battle with 18 turnovers and forcing 26 from the Tornados.
Five Cowboys had more than 10 points against Concordia.
Chris Bryant continued to lead the team with a 17-point game shooting 8-11.
Austin Brewer finished with 16 points shooting 6-8 with two 3-pointers.
Cooper Peterson had his career-high as a Cowboy with five made 3-pointers for 15 points.
Silas Davis stayed in the double-digits for the third game straight with 11 points shooting 5-7 and led the team with nine assists.
DJ Jones scored 10 points for the Cowboys with three made 3-point shots.
Hardin-Simmons improves to 7-8 on the season and will have the week off before starting ASC play on Jan. 16 at East Texas Baptist.
