SAN DESTIN, Fla. – Freshman
Caden Fields shot a 72 and is in 13
th place overall and the Hardin-Simmons men's golf team shot a 302 and is in 17
th place after the first round of the Golfweek Classic at the Raven Club in San Destin, Fla.
Fields had a steady day with two birdies and 13 pars in his round.
Keaton Blume shot a 76 for the Cowboys and
Tyler Merchant and
Jake Koeninger each shot 77.
Carson Rosser had a 79.
Sam Rossi of Trinity shot a 65 and leads the individual race.
Southwestern University shot a 285 to take the team lead by one shot over Wittenberg University and two strokes over rival Trinity.
The teams will play 18 holes on Monday.
