SANDESTIN, Fla. – Hardin-Simmons' women's golf team is in the middle of the pack at No. 13 after the first round of the Golfweek Classic at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort in Sandestin, Fla.

The field, which features many of the top teams in the nation, has 24 teams. Grinnell College and Williams College are tied atop the leaderboard with a 300 total. The Cowgirls are 13^th after shooting a 320 on the day.

Freshman Addison Payne shot a 73 in the first round and is tied for fifth overall in the individual race. Morgan Mussatt of Randolph Macon and Becky Williams of DePauw are tied for the individual lead after shooting 71.

Allison McGinnis and Ariana Chavez each shot 81s for the Cowgirls, Shay West finished with an 85 and Aly Navarro shot 89.

The teams will play 18 holes on Monday.
