BELTON, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl soccer team fell 1–0 on the road to Mary Hardin-Baylor in American Southwest Conference play Saturday evening at Cru Soccer Field.
After a scoreless first half, Mary Hardin-Baylor's Malyn Martinson broke the deadlock in the 56
th minute with a successful penalty kick that proved to be the game-winner. Despite controlling possession and outshooting the Crusaders 18-11, the Cowgirls were unable to find the back of the net.

Abigail Medlin anchored the Hardin-Simmons defense with seven saves over 90 minutes. Offensively,
Belle Floyd led the Cowgirls with four shots, including three on goal, while
Taylor Garrett,
Cora Saucedo, and
Tatum Barnett each added multiple scoring chances.
The Cowgirls fell to 7-2-2 and 2-1 in the ASC will look to bounce back when they return to the field against East Texas Baptist on Oct. 18 in Marshall on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
