SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowboy tennis freshman Gabriel Harris won in the A singles round of 16 to advance to the quarterfinals on Saturday at the ITA Southwest Regional hosted by Trinity.
 
Harris won his match in the round of 16 with a split 6-4, 1-6, 6-4 over Shu-Lun Chang of the University of Dallas to advance to the quarterfinals. He will play Nathan Qi of Southwestern Texas at 9 a.m. in San Antonio on Saturday.
 
Harris won the first round of A singles 6-4, 7-6(5) against Joseph Snyman and upset the No. 5 ranked Roshin Kamath of Trinity in the second round 7-5, 6-1 to advance on Thursday.
 
Brandon Curiel advanced in the A singles consolation and will play in the quarterfinals on Saturday at 9 a.m. against Edgar Mayorga Calva from UMHB.
 
Freshman Cowboy Phoenix Davis advanced in the B singles to reach the semifinals with a win on Friday. He will play in the semifinal Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity against the top-seed in B singles Gavin Simpson from UST.
 
Leevi Knight took the opening two rounds of D singles for Hardin-Simmons and will play in the semifinal against Timothy Black of LETU on Saturday at 9 a.m.
 
Kayden Lengacher and Harris won the Cowboys a round in the A doubles round of 16 before falling in the quarterfinals on Friday.
 
Hardin-Simmons had three doubles teams play in the quarterfinals of B doubles. Joshua Miller and Gavin Hail and the team of Wyatt Terrell and Luke Leavelle fell in the third round.
 
Curiel and Pedro Rozani won the third round of B doubles and will play a semifinal on Saturday at 4 p.m. against Kadon Sullins and Ajonte St. Ville from TLU.
