ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowboy basketball junior 
Chris Bryant was named a 2025-26 NCAA Division III Preseason All-American by D3hoops.com, announced on Thursday.
 
Bryant was an all-region forward and named first-team all-American Southwest Conference as a sophomore at HSU. He scored 15.3 points a game for the Cowboys and led the conference with 59 total blocks, averaging just over two blocks a game.

Chris Bryant has put in a lot of work on and off the court to become the player that he is. We expect a big season from him this year!" said Cowboy head coach 
Matt Brackett.
 
Bryant was named the ASC championship tournament MVP for the Cowboys after winning the conference after finishing the ASC regular season 8-0. The strong play inside by Bryant helped the Cowboys win two games in the regional of the NCAA Tournament, defeating Cal Lutheran and the University of St. Thomas. Hardin-Simmons finished the season in the NCAA Sweet 16 round hosted by No. 1 ranked NYU.
 
The Cowboys start the season on November 7 at home against Texas Lutheran tipping off at 7:30 p.m. in the Mabee Athletic Complex.
