ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowboy and Cowgirl cross country teams will travel to the NCAA Division III West Regional with a chance to advance to the national championship, racing on Saturday in Claremont, Calif. Hosted by Pomona-Pitzer.
The Cowboys will race at 11 a.m. and the Cowgirls will run at noon central time on Saturday. The Cowboys won the first ASC Championship in school history two weeks ago with head coach
Isaac Hamilton assisted by
Sydney Tencate, who were named the men's coaching staff of the year.
Noah Bela led all Cowboys and placed second overall at the ASC championship in the 8k with a time of 26:39. The Cowgirls were led by
Jasmin Mendez, who placed second over with a time of 23:42 in the 6k to lead Hardin-Simmons in the ASC championship.
The NCAA West Regional hosted by Pomona-Pitzer will serve as the qualifying races for the 2025 NCAA Division III cross country national championship races held on Saturday, Nov. 22 in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
