Villagomez And Friederich Major Award Winners, Eight Cowboys Named All-ASC

DALLAS, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowboy soccer team had Daniel Villagomez named the ASC Co-Midfielder of the Year and Joseph Friederich named ASC Co-Sportsmanship Athlete of the Year, along with eight Cowboys named to all-ASC teams in the 2025 American Southwest Conference men's soccer awards, voted on by the league head coaches.
 
Villagomez started 13 games for the Cowboys and scored three goals on the year to be named the ASC Co-Midfielder of the Year for 2025. He was named first-team all-ASC in the midfield for HSU, the second conference honor of his career. Friederich was named the ASC Co-Sportsmanship Athlete of the Year for the Cowboys.
 
Freshman Gabriel Sias joined the all-ASC first-team as a defender. He started 14 games and played in every game in his first season with two assists. Sias was named to the ASC all-tournament team for HSU as well.
 
Sophomore Trace Binyon was named first-team all-ASC as a defender. Binyon started 16 games with one goal and one assist for Hardin-Simmons. Transfer Benny Lube was named to the all-ASC first-team as a forward with three goals and eight assists on the year for the Cowboys. Lube was also named to the ASC all-tournament team for HSU.
 
James Webb led the Cowboys in scoring eight goals and added one assist on the season and picked up his second all-ASC award as a sophomore. He was named a first-team all-ASC forward for Hardin-Simmons.
 
Carson Null was named first-team all-ASC at goalkeeper for Hardin-Simmons and was the ASC tournament MVP for the Cowboys. He was named all-ASC for the third time in his career with 58 saves in 12 starts in 2025.
 
Korbin Raef and Jerron Garcia were each named second-team all-ASC for Hardin-Simmons. Raef earned the first conference honor of his career as a sophomore midfielder with two goals and two assists and was named ASC all-tournament. Garcia was named all-ASC for the second time in his career with one assist this season.
 
The Cowboys will play at Trinity on Saturday, Nov. 15 in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament, with kickoff at 4 p.m. in San Antonio against the Tigers.
