ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl volleyball will head on the road to the 2025 American Southwest Conference volleyball championship tournament hosted by East Texas Baptist in Marshall, Texas beginning Friday as the Cowgirls take on Mary Hardin-Baylor in the semifinal at 3:30 p.m.
Hardin-Simmons finished the regular season with a record of 16-9 and earned the ASC co-coaching staff of the year award under head coach
Kendall Crisp, assistant
Kyrah Bailey, and graduate assistant
Ali Meyer.
The Cowgirls will take on UMHB after splitting the regular season with the Crusaders, winning 3-1 in Abilene and falling 3-2 on the road.
Abbi Allen and
Leigh Jespersen led the Cowgirl attack in each of those games, with 12 kills in the first match from Allen and 17 kills in the second match coming from Jespersen, both of whom were named first-team all-ASC this season.
Hardin-Simmons wrapped up the regular season at No. 8 Trinity, taking a win off a ranked Southwestern team and competing with the Tigers on the road. The Cowgirls are playing their best volleyball of the season heading into the ASC championship tournament.
The winner of the HSU/UMHB game at 3:30 p.m. will play the winner of the ETBU/HPU game scheduled for 6 p.m. on Friday. The championship game will be on Saturday, Nov. 15 at 2 p.m. in Marshall.
Tickets for the 2025 ASC volleyball championship tournament will be $16 for a tournament pass that will get you in all weekend or $11 per game, with children under two getting in free. Tickets will be available for cash and card at the gate in Marshall.
