DALLAS, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl soccer team had eight named first-team all-ASC, with seniors
Presleigh Thiessen and
Taylor Garrett collecting major awards from the conference, voted on by the league head coaches.
Thiessen was named the 2025 American Southwest Conference Offensive Player of the Year. She had four goals on the season and five assists, ranking third in total points for the Cowgirls this year. The senior midfielder from Denton was named first-team all-ASC.
Garrett was named the 2025 ASC Sportsmanship Athlete of the Year for Hardin-Simmons. She started in 13 games in the midfield and was named first-team all-ASC for her efforts this year.
Senior
Kalea Willis manned the Cowgirl defense back line all year and was named to the all-ASC first-team. She started in 16 games and led all Cowgirls with 1320 minutes on the year. The Cowgirl defense allowed only 11 goals through 16 games this year and averaged just over ten shots from opponents each game. Willis added a goal and an assist for HSU this year and was named all-ASC for the third time in her career.
Sophomore
Taylor Koch was named first-team all-ASC at forward with five goals and five assists for the Cowgirls this season. She is second on the team in total points and has played 16 games for HSU.
Junior Cowgirl
Lexi Templin was named first-team all-ASC for the third time in her career. The forward had five goals for the Cowgirls and one assist, including a goal in each game to beat Mary Hardin-Baylor late in the year, most notably the golden goal in the ASC championship win.
Senior
Belle Floyd picked up a first-team all-ASC honor in the midfield for the Cowgirls. She scored four goals and two assists for the Cowgirls this year and was fifth in total points for the Cowgirl team.
Freshman Cowgirl
Tatum Barnett had a quick start to her career as a first-team all-ASC midfielder in her first season. She led the Cowgirls with eight goals this year and added four assists. She scored two in the ASC semifinal to beat Howard Payne and was named to the ASC all-tournament team as well.
Abigail Medlin was named first-team all-ASC to highlight the Cowgirl defense this year. Medlin helped the Cowgirls by only giving up six goals in over 1100 minutes in goal through 16 starts. The senior goalkeeper from Cypress was named the ASC championship tournament MVP and had 60 saves on the season for Hardin-Simmons.
The Cowgirls take on Trinity at 11 a.m. on Saturday in San Antonio, Texas for the NCAA Tournament first round.
