MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl basketball team finished off the Berea Mountaineers convincingly 73-52 after a back and forth start to the game playing in Memphis hosted by Rhodes College.
The Cowgirls led 15-14 after the opening quarter before trailing in the second. Hardin-Simmons went on an 8-0 run to end the first half and lead 37-31 at the break.
The Cowgirls got their second win of the season with a big fourth quarter, outscoring the Mountaineers 19-9 to win 73-52. HSU got the win despite a Berea free throw of advantage with 40 free throws taken to only 21 from the Cowgirls.
Jacqueline Berry led all scorers with 19 points including 7-11 from the free throw line.
Dylan Koele scored 16 points for the Cowgirls with two 3-pointers and
Angie Sacco scored ten points in 15 minutes on the court.
The Cowgirls will play host school Rhodes in Memphis on Saturday at 1 p.m. to finish the road trip.
