LEXINGTON, Ky. – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl volleyball right-side hitter
Abbi Allen was named first-team all-region by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA), announced on Wednesday after a vote of the region coaches.
The graduate senior from Coleman, Texas is the first all-region selection for Cowgirl volleyball since Corrie Hall in 2015, who was the ASC MVP and later named an All-American as well. As a member of the first-team all-region, Allen will go on the ballot for AVCA All-American, which will be announced later this year.
Allen was named first-team all-ASC for the Cowgirls for the second time in her career in 2025, hitting .250 as a right side. She was second for Hardin-Simmons with 212 kills on 569 swings, averaging 2.12 kills a set. Allen was one of the top blocking right sides in the nation, leading the Cowgirls with 109 total blocks and averaging 1.09 blocks a set.
