SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowboy basketball team competed in a non-conference matchup on Sunday afternoon, falling 81-73 to Trinity University at the Bell Center. The Cowboys moved to 4-4 on the season following the contest.
Hardin-Simmons posted a strong offensive performance, scoring 47 points in the second half while finishing with 73 total points. The Cowboys shot 29-of-72 from the field and surpassed the Tiger opponents with 42 total rebounds, including 17 on the offensive glass.
Asher Fleming led the team with 16 points and added eight rebounds in 31 minutes of play.
Myles Amason contributed 12 points on 5-of-6 shooting while recording four blocks.
Tyler Williams reached double figures with ten points and added five rebounds and three assists.
Defensively, the Cowboys registered seven steals and five blocks while forcing 11 Trinity turnovers.
Trinity (6-1) was paced by Jackson Lawson's 21 points, with the Tigers shooting 48 percent from the floor and connecting on ten 3-pointers.
Hardin-Simmons will play at Concordia Texas in Round Rock on Monday, Dec. 1 at 6 p.m.
