Box Score ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' men's tennis team opened the spring season playing at Division I ACU on Saturday morning, going down by a final of 7-0 to the Wildcats.
 
Zach Fowler and Paxton O'Shea led of doubles No. 1 losing 6-1 to Verdasco and Scribner. Brandon Curiel and Payne Smith played doubles No. 2 going down 6-3 to McDonald and Delnido. Jameson Sorrell and Jordan Oberbillig played the third doubles match in a 6-1 defeat to Tischner and Elizondo.  
 
Fowler was the first Cowboy in singles and fell 6-1, 6-0. Smith played the second singles and also went down 6-1, 6-0.
 
Curiel played at the three spot and lost 6-2, 6-1. O'Shea finished the fourth singles match down 6-3, 6-0.
 
Oberbillig played the fifth singles match down 6-0, 6-3 for the Cowboys and Maddox Foster finished the day at six singles with a 6-3, 7-5 defeat.
 
Hardin-Simmons will play next at home on Feb. 7 hosting Trinity at the Streich Tennis Center.
