RICHARDSON, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl basketball team lost 76-69 to the UT-Dallas Comets on the road Saturday in non-conference action to wrap up the regular season.
The Cowgirls tied the game at 7-7 with an
Aiken Semones 3-pointer early in the first quarter before the Comets took control and went up 22-14.
Hardin-Simmons cut into the lead late but never overcame the deficit and fell by a final score of 76-69 on Saturday in Richardson.
HSU shot 38 percent with 23-60 made baskets and 8-23 from beyond the arc. UTD shot 48 percent with 29-60 field goals. The Cowgirls held the rebounding edge 40-36 over the Comets.
Madison Williams led the Cowgirls with 13 points and added four assists.
Jacqueline Berry led in rebounding with ten and had ten points for a double-double.
Semones scored 11 points with three made 3-point shots and
Dylan Koele scored ten points with a pair of 3-pointers.
The Cowgirls wrap the regular season at 18-7 and have a record of 4-4 in the ASC with the conference tournament scheduled for next weekend hosted by East Texas Baptist in Marshall, Texas.
