ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' men's basketball team rolled to a 90-68 win over East Texas Baptist on Senior Day at the Mabee Complex on Saturday afternoon.
ETBU had an early lead at 7-6 then the Cowboys scored 11 straight points and never trailed the rest of the game. HSU pushed the lead out to as many as 19 points and led 40-24 at halftime.
HSU continued to pour it on in the second half and led 77-44 after a
Cooper Peterson 3-pointer with 7:27 to play.
The Cowboys shot 55 percent in the game and outrebounded the Tigers 38-27.
HSU had four players in double figures.
Silas Davis led the way with 15 points and handed out six assists.
Austin Brewer and Peterson had 13 points each and
Chris Bryant had 10 points.
It was senior day for Peterson, Brewer and
Will Bartoszek.
Jason Justice led the Tigers with 22 points, Joshua Davis added 16 points and Colin Roberts added 13.
The Cowboys remain undefeated in conference play at 6-0 and improved to 13-9 overall. ETBU fell to 6-17 overall and 2-4 in league play. The Cowboys host Howard Payne at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
