Box Score 2 ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl tennis team dropped two close matches with Division II schools Texas Wesleyan and Texas A&M Texarkana, going down just 4-3 in both matches with freshman
Sydney Tomlin winning both singles playing up a division.
Halle Smith and
Addyson Tylaska started the wins for HSU with a doubles win 6-0 over Texas Wesleyan.
Tomlin got her day going with a 7-5, 6-3 win against Brunzlow for the Rams in the third singles flight.
Emma Curiel and
Halle Smith each won at singles for the Cowgirls in the five and six flights against Wesleyan.
Laurel Coleman and
Jonnah Smith won doubles 6-3 against Texarkana.
Halle Smith and Tylaska won 6-3 as well in doubles to take the point.
Tomlin got her second win over a DII opponent in the third singles flight 6-3, 6-2 playing Young of Texarkana.
Triniti McBride also defeated a scholarship opponent at six singles, winning 3-6, 6-3, (10-6) in a comeback.
Hardin-Simmons drops to 3-4 on the season and will travel to play at East Texas Baptist on March 7 at 10 a.m.
