ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Hardin-Simmons' Cowboy high jumper Gunner Helm finished inside the top-10 with a jump of 6-8 ¾ ft. on Saturday at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships.
 
Helm is a junior out of Roby, Texas and qualified for the NCAA Championships in the indoor high jump with his personal best and Cowboy indoor track record 6-8 ¾ ft. high jump earlier this season. He tied that mark again to take No. 10 in Division III on Saturday.
 
Helm joins Malik Pratt and Davare Payne as the third Cowboy to ever qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships.
 
Hardin-Simmons will shift into the outdoor season and Helm will work towards qualifying for the outdoor championships, with HSU competing next at the Wes Kittley Invitational at Abilene Christian on March 21-22.
