Will Bartoszek named all-district and head coach
Matt Brackett named District Coach of the Year.
Bartoszek is a graduate senior from Rockwall, Texas and was named to the NABC District 10 second team for the Cowboys. He was named the ASC Sportsmanship Athlete of the Year after coming on an injury early in the year and was named to the ASC first team. Bartoszek averaged 11.0 points a game and 5.0 rebounds a game for HSU and was named to the ASC championship all-tournament team this season.
Head coach
Matt Brackett was named the NABC District 10 Coach of the Year after claiming his first ASC Championship win and the first for Hardin-Simmons since 2017. He was the Coach of the Year in the ASC after running the table in conference play for an 8-0 record and becoming only the fourth men's basketball team to finish conference play undefeated. Brackett's team won two games in the NCAA Tournament over Cal Lu and the University of St. Thomas before traveling to the NCAA Sweet 16 against No. 1 overall NYU. The Cowboys finished the year with a record of 20-10.
