ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowboy and Cowgirl outdoor track and field teams ran at the second day of the Abilene Christian Wes Kittley Invitational on Saturday in Abilene.
Two Cowboys had sub-11 second 100m times,
Donovan Simmons leading with a 10.63 and
Javarian Belcha coming in at 10.66 at ACU.
Kylah Washington neared her record for the 100m with a 12.01 for the Cowgirls on Saturday. Washington led the team in the 200m with a 25.34.
Jasmin Mendez ran an 800m in 2:31 for the Cowgirls.
Adan Santoyo had a couple a great times for the Cowboys in the 200m and 400m. He came in at 21.93 for the 200m and had a lap of 48.97 in the 400m to place fifth at ACU.
Evan Hanson placed fourth in the hammer throw with a 154-06 ft. throw. Jahymeer Larkins was third in the shot put for the Cowboys with a throw of 46-4 ¼ ft.
Katir Baller took second in the high jump with a clear at 5-5 ft. for the Cowgirls and
Gunner Helm led the field with a 6-8 ¾ ft. jump for the Cowboys.
Garret Rothans led Hardin-Simmons in the long jump with a 21-0 ¾ ft. jump and the Cowgirls were led by
Haley Smith jumping 17-4 ft. in the long jump.
Santoyo, Belcha,
Kaden Landeros, and Simmons teamed up for the 4x100m relay and ran a 42.49 for the Cowboys.
Hardin-Simmons track will split the squad and have members at the Texas Relays at UT, Texas State Bobcat Multi, and the Trinity Invite next week Wednesday through Saturday.
