PORTLAND, Ore. – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl tennis team dropped the first match of the road trip to Oregon 6-1 to the Lewis & Clark College Pioneers on Thursday afternoon.
The Cowgirls headed up to Portland with Lewis & Clark, Pacific University, and George Fox on the schedule this week before returning to play at home on April 11.
The Cowgirls went down in the three doubles matches and had a win from freshman
Emma Curiel in the fourth flight of singles, winning 7-5, 6-4 in an otherwise tough day for the visitors. HSU went down 6-1 to Lewis & Clark Thursday.
The Cowgirls drop to 6-7 on the season and will travel to Forest Grove, Ore. to play at Pacific University tomorrow beginning at 11 a.m. central time.
