DALLAS, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl basketball team had four members honored by the American Southwest Conference post season awards, including
Jacqueline Berry being named the ASC freshman of the year.
Berry led the ASC in points as a freshman, scoring 376 and averaging 13.9 points a game, shooting 45 percent from the floor on the season. She had the second-most rebounds in the conference with 190 and averaged seven rebounds a game and led the conference in steals with 63. Berry was named to the all-freshman team and all-defensive team as well.
Berry was named to the all-ASC first team at small forward and was joined by fellow Cowgirl Madsion Williams. The sophomore Williams averaged 13.6 points a game and led the Cowgirls with 62 assists. Berry and Williams were both named all-ASC for the first time in their careers.
Aiken Semones was named to the all-ASC second team at guard for the Cowgirls. Semones led the league in 3-point shots making 65 long-range buckets while shooting 39 percent from deep. She averaged 10.6 points a game and had 49 steals and 48 assists.
MaeSyn Gay was named to the ASC all-freshman team at small forward in her first year for the Cowgirls. She was second in the conference with 29 blocks in limited minutes, scored 101 points, and grabbed 158 rebounds off the bench.
