GEORGETOWN, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' men's golf team finished in sixth place at the West Region Invitational at the Berry Creek Country Club in Georgetown on Tuesday.
 
Andrew Bin led the Cowboys' effort with a 74-77-76-227 total to place 22^nd overall. Luke Jun shot 78-80-76-234, Jake Atherton had a 82-78-78-238 scorecard, Tyler Merchant carded an 83-77-80-240 and Jack Estes shot 86-81-82-249.
 
LeTourneau won the team title with a 288-284-297-869 for a 13-shot win over Trinity and Mary Hardin-Baylor. Southwestern was fourth at 891, Centenary placed fifth at 931, HSU was sixth at 317-312-310-939. Southwestern B shot 946, Howard Payne was eighth at 976 and Northwestern St.-St. Paul was ninth at 977.
 
Carter Code of Trinity won the medalist race with a 213 total and won by three shots.
 
This was the Cowboys' last tune-up for the ASC Championship, which will be held May 2-4 at the Nutcracker Golf Club in Granbury.
