GRANBURY, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' men's golf team won a modified match-play format dual against Howard Payne, 10.5-4.5, on Saturday at Nutcracker Golf Club in Granbury.
 
The front nine was team best-ball and HSU won three of the five matches. Luke Jun and Jack Estes and Jake Atherton and Bobby Dominy both won their matches 4-up. Tyler Merchant and Keaton Blume won their match 2-up.
 
The singles matches were on the back nine and the Cowboys picked up seven wins and tied another match. Jun, Atherton, Dominy, Jake Koeninger, Andrew Bin, Merchant and Kade Burton all won their singles match and Estes tied his match.
 
It was the final tune-up before the American Southwest Conference Championship which will be held at Nutcracker on May 2-4.
