Washington Records in 100m, Rothans Improves High Jump Mark at Trinity

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' outdoor track and field teams took a handful of athletes to compete at the Trinity Last Chance meet on Sunday.
 
Kylah Washington hit a Cowgirl record in the 100m with a time of 11.89. She improved her old record of 12 seconds. Her new time of 11.89 is currently tied for No. 28 in the nation. Washington led the meet in the 200m with a time of 24.96.
 
Garrett Rothans improved on his high jump mark with a clear of 6-9 ½ ft. (2.07m) to place first in the meet. His old mark of 2.06m was tied for No. 10 in Division III previously.
 
Nathan Mangual led the Cowboys in the hammer throw with a 155-6 ft. throw for second place.
 
Jahymeer Larkins threw the discus 156-9 ft. for Hardin-Simmons and placed first overall at Trinity. Larkins also led the meet in the shot put with a throw of 45-6 ½ ft.
 
Markus Stone jumped 20-4 ft. for HSU in the men's long jump to place seventh at the meet.
 
Katie Baller finished second in the high jump for the Cowgirls clearing 5-3 ½ ft.
 
The Cowboy 4x100m relay team of Javarian Belcha, Adan Santoyo, Kaden Landeros, and Donovan Simmons finished in 42.77. Belcha led the Cowboys in the 100m with a 10.80.
 
Aiden Seekins ran a 1500m time of 4:06 to take first place at Trinity for the Cowboys.
 
Danielle Pena ran a 400m time of 1:01 for the Cowgirls. Adan Santoyo ran a 49.75 to lead the Cowboys in the 400m at sixth place.
 
Jasmin Mendez led the Cowgirls in the 400m hurdles, coming in at 1:14. The Cowboy 4x400m relay team of Billy Heath, Simmons, Belcha, and Santoyo had a time of 3:26.
