BELTON, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl tennis team fell 4-3 to ETBU in the semifinal match of the American Southwest Conference championship tournament on Friday morning playing at Lake Belton high school.
The Cowgirls had to push the game back from Thursday night due to lightning and started the ASC tournament on Friday at 9 a.m. HSU took the first point with two doubles wins from the teams of
Laurel Coleman and
Addyson Tylaska and
Jonnah Smith and
Triniti McBride.
The Cowgirls got out to a 3-1 lead after winning two singles matches. Tylaska finished with a quick win over Macquet 6-1, 6-3 in the six singles match. The Tigers took a match to make it 2-1 before
Emma Curiel won 6-3, 6-3 against Dunn to get the lead up to 3-1 for Hardin-Simmons.
The Cowgirls started down a set in the one, three, and four singles matches, but pulled even winning the second set in all three matches. ETBU went on to win the third set for three straight singles points, including a tiebreaker in the split on the fourth singles match to advance 4-3 over the Cowgirls.
Hardin-Simmons finished the year 6-14 in another season in the ASC championship tournament. We'd like to thank our seniors
