DALLAS, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowboy soccer team tied for first in the 2025 American Southwest Conference men's soccer preseason poll, with 26 total points to tied with Mary Hardin-Baylor, after a vote of the league head coaches and directors of sports information.

Brad Bankhead won the ASC Championship in 2024 with a 12-6-2 record and 6-2 ASC record and headed back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2014. The Cowboys received four of eight first-place votes in the preseason poll.
The Cowboys had three named ASC preseason players to watch,
Jerron Garcia,
Daniel Villagomez, and
James Webb. Villagomez and Webb were named all-ASC last season and Villagomez was named to the ASC championship all-tournament team as well.
The Cowboys kick off on Aug. 29 at Texas Lutheran before the first home game on Sept. 8 playing McMurry at the HSU Soccer Complex.
